The Velec R48 was designed for maximum comfort, big soft seat with springs, suspension seat post to reduce jouncing to the spine and front suspension to keep your wrists and shoulders stress free. This e-bike flows like a regular bike, smooth and gentle, with enough boost to get you up any hill. This is a great bike for anyone wanting to cruise around town, ride paths to parks, or pick up groceries.

So often petite riders are stuck trying to be comfortable on a bike too large for them. Velec has designed an e-bike with all the comfort of a large bike, in a size made just for you.

3 sizes:

Small or 15" frame for riders between 4' 11' and 5' 3"
Medium or 17.5" frame for riders between 5' 4" and 5' 9"
Large or 20" frame for riders over 5' 10"

This step through e-bike is lighter than the standard e-bike making it easier to place on a vehicle bike rack.

The 500w motor is ideal for people who want to travel long distances and tackle steep slopes and headwinds with less effort.

The reinforced step through frame makes the R48 more robust than similar step through models.

The R48 is ready to ride with included rear and front lights, fenders, rear rack, comfortable seat, ergonomic hand grips.

Manufacturer warranty 2 years, parts and service available in shop. Velec has been in the e-bike business for 15 years.

Fantastic store with amazing staff who really took time with my husband and me. We were able to try out a couple different bikes on an actual road ride and not just in a parking lot. Chris spent a lot of time familiarizing us with the bikes and making sure we were comfortable with them before going out on the road where he rode alongside us giving helpful tips and advice. He was very patient and at no time did we feel pressured to hurry up and "catch on" nor did we feel pressured to purchase a bike. Thank you to all the staff. You really know how to do customer service right.

What to say about BCeBike's customer service? It simply is the best there is on Vancouver Island! I have a two-year-old Velec R48 which I love to ride. Unfortunately, the battery died. I had bought the bike in Duncan, but reaching the business there was painfully unsuccessful. Eventually I contacted Velec in Quebec and they immediately responded and told me to connect with BCeBike in Nanaimo. During a day their store was closed (Monday) I could deliver my bike to have it checked out. Rob the owner phoned me the same day to confirm the battery was dead, but luckily still on warranty. He provided me with a loan battery so I could keep riding and now the warranty is taken care of. On a site note, Rob checked out the bike completely and fixed assembly errors made in Duncan without charging me for it! Rob thank you so much! You are a true passionate business owner, and your customer service is out of this world!! Helma

We did not even purchase our bikes from bc ebikes and they serviced our bikes and provided us with lots of information to make our biking experience better. Thank you thank you thank you.....I now know why Mitchell from surface 604 was not worried at all about the issues we were having once he knew we took our bikes to your team!
